O Bom Samaritano

Lucas 10:25-37

a.    Quantas surpresas nos acometem e nos deixam indefesos? Você gostaria de ser socorrido nessas ocasiões?

3.      A indiferença: O levita ajudava no templo.

A hospedaria é a igreja.
O dono da hospedaria é Deus!

Aleluia!!!

Aqui ela é a entrada.

·         Então qual a situação?

É portanto, a minha porta. Só minha.

·         O que é essa porta? João 10:7-9. Jesus é a porta!

1.  Preciso crer e aceitar Jesus como meu salvador. Preciso desejar me encontrar com Jesus!
Preciso ler a Bíblia.

Efeito Kriptonita Espiritual
Baseado no Trailer
Batman vs Superman – A origem da justiça

·         Êxodo 33:20, Deus declara: "Não me poderás ver a face, porquanto homem nenhum verá a minha face e viverá."

o   Quem vem do céu é Jesus.

6.      Fala prá mim, você sangra? Vai sangrar.
·
      Apocalipse 14:14-20

E a Kriptonita?

A Kriptonita venceria o Superman.
A Kriptonita é a arma letal. A nossa kriptonita contra as armadilhas de Satanás é a nossa fé!
A kriptonita enfraquece o Superman (nosso super ego), a kriptonita entrega tudo ao Senhor do Universo! A fé move montanhas.

Vamos assistir o filme? Sim, porque não? Mas com entendimento.

Deus os abençoe.

Mais uma ideia para culto em Inglês:

The Lord is Good!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I adore you. Be exalted, oh, Lord of all nations. Thank you for being my Lord, thank you for sending Jesus. Jesus, thank you, for dying for me and leaving the Holy Spirit. Holy Spirit, you are here in this place and we love your presence. Please come and fill our hearts with your presence and let us learn the English language with your blessings. In the name of the Jesus we pray. Amen!

Sermon:
Good evening, church! Peace be with you.
Tonight we have the privilege to participate in a service in English. It is quite like the service you will take part in a foreign country, except that you do not have a charming translator like this one.

Let us learn these worship words: Praise the Lord. So during the sermon you can say, “Praise the Lord” in English. Make yourself at home.

Let’s open our Bibles on 2 Chronicles 7:3 “The Lord is good, and his mercy endures forever.”

In this chapter, the king Salomon was dedicating the temple to the Lord. The people of Israel was worshiping the Lord because His glory had come upon the temple. They could see it. They said, “He is good, and His mercy (some versions of the Bible will use the word loving kindness) endures forever”, which means it never ends. They were recognizing the never-ending love and mercy of the Lord.

God loves me; He loves you and loves the world. I think we can repeat in English: “God loves me”.

I need to believe that He loves me in any situation. It is hard to believe in someone’s love when you are in a difficult situation. When you are sad, heart-broken, see no future, depressed and even without a single penny in your pocket. When the life has not been good to us, God remains good to us. That is something we have to believe! Believe and believe. Why does He love us? Because He decided to do so.

In this verse, the Israelites believed because they saw the glory come upon the temple. Today, we believe because His glory come upon ourselves and we can be sure of His presence in our lives. We are the temple of God.

But, sometimes it seems that God is not there, He is not listening. Even Jesus, during his crucifixion, asked, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” (Matthew 27:46). Jesus, the son of God, felt the same way.

Then I can ask,
“Where are you when it hurts?
Where are you in my suffering?”
Jesus felt the same, too!

However, we can see that right after the suffering at the cross, Jesus was glorified and He rose from the dead and he is now seated at the right hand of God. He talks to God about you and me all the time.

1 Samuel 15:29 says, He who is the Glory of Israel does not lie or change his mind; for he is not a human being, that he should change his mind.”

Samuel is telling King Saul that the Lord is the glory of Israel and that He is not a human being to lie or change His mind. It means we cannot limit God because He has no limits. He is God! And God is good! He is so good to me. Can you repeat that in English? God is so good to me.

Open your bibles on Psalms 73:1: God is truly good to Israel, especially to everyone with a pure heart”.

We suffer because our hearts are not purified every day. However, there is one thing we should always remember: only the blood of Jesus will be able to truly purify our hearts. That explains why Jesus had to be hung on that cross and pour out all his blood in our favor. His precious blood, the price He paid for our salvation.
God is good! He knows what He is doing. Our job is to trust and believe in his love and mercy. Just like Jesus did. Jesus trusted and believed in the Father’s love and mercy, because He had a plan of salvation for all humankind and that included Jesus’ death on the cross.

God loves me. He has plans for me and He has dreams for me. My job is to trust and believe in Him.

I will suffer because suffering is part of this life. However, if I trust and believe that God loves me and that He is good, I will go through the suffering with peace in my heart.

I would like to tell you a short story. A newborn Christian told his pastor that ever since he had accepted Jesus as his savior, there had had two ferocious dogs fighting inside of himself. One was good and the other was bad. They made him make good and bad things. The pastor asked him, “Who has been winning the fight?”. He didn’t know the answer. The pastor then replied, “The one you feed more”.

What have you been thinking about lately?
What have you been reading lately?
What have you been seeking lately?

If I think about heavenly subjects, read the Bible and seek for the Lord in prayer, I am feeding the good dog.

If I think of earthly things, text on Whatsapp and Facebook all day long and seek for trouble, I am feeding the bad dog.

God loves us. He wants us to be in the right path to heaven, where Jesus said He would prepare a room for us (John 14:2).

Tonight, God wants you to repent from your sins, accept Him as your savior, if you have not done that yet. He also wants you to return to him, if you have gone in a different direction. God is merciful. God loves me. God is so good to me.

Prayer:
Lord, you are good. Your love endures forever. I know I am a sinner, but you love me and have saved me through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Please forgive me. I want to love you, too. Please help me trust and believe that you are good all the time. Help me think of you, read your Holy Word. Jesus, I want you to be my best friend. Lord, I give you my heart. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Dare to Believe

Matthew 4:18 (NIV) – “As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.”
We are going to talk about simple people, people that came out of the crowd, people like us, people who dared to believe.
Peter and his brother Andrew were fishermen. They were hard workers. Andrew had heard about Jesus through John the Baptist, who had said that Jesus was the Lamb of God (John 1:36). Since then, Andrew tried to bring Peter to Jesus. But, we can see that Jesus went himself and called them to follow him.
Matthew 4:19 (NIV) - Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
As Jesus called them, they did not run home to tell the news, they did not think about it for a week, on the contrary, they accepted right away.
Matthew 4:20 (NIV) – “At once they left their nets and followed him.”
Mathew 4:21-22 (NIV) – Going on from there, he saw two other brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John. They were in a boat with their father Zebedee, preparing their nets. Jesus called them, and immediately they left the boat and their father and followed him.”
These verses talk about the calling of James and John as well. It is interesting to notice that Jesus called them and they followed him right away. However, their father Zebedee (pronunciation Zébedii), who was with them on the boat, did not follow Jesus. James and John, at their turn, left not only the boat but also the father! They dared to believe!
Daring to believe requires a complete emptiness of oneself. The believer has to give away all he has and all he is. That is a process.
I believe that from all the followers that Jesus had, the strongest example is of Peter. He was a rude person, but also an enthusiast. When Jesus washed the disciples’ feet, he wanted to have his whole body washed. He cut the ear of the servant of the high priest. He was intense, an ardent disciple. Although, he was not perfect. He himself thought he could not deny Jesus in the middle of the people who wanted to see his master dead on a cross. The truth is that his human condition emerged, because he was afraid of being discovered as one of Jesus’ followers, and felt very disappointed when he denied Jesus three times and heard the rooster sing as Jesus had told him it would happen. He repented and wept bitterly, since he realized he would not be able to stand strong for Jesus on his own. He needed help!
When we need help, God always finds a way! However, we have to seek for that help. It does not come alone!
On the day of the Pentecost, there were about 120 people praying when the Holy Spirit came down in form of tongues of fire over their heads. They began speaking other tongues, tongues they had never gone to school to learn. I went to school to learn English.
Peter was among these people. He was praying, he was seeking for what he finally realized he did not have. He knew now that he couldn’t dare to believe on his own. He needed something stronger than his own willpower.
Belief is divine. Belief implies spiritual vision of something you have not been able to see with the human eye, but you can see through the spiritual vision given by the Holy Spirit to your spirit. That is exactly what happened to Peter.
Acts 2:14 (NIV) – “Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.
Peter stoop up among the eleven disciples. He took the lead and started to preach. The first preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ! About 3,000 people believed and were baptized that day. In his second speech another 2,000 believed! The Holy Spirit had made him a leader!
I can imagine Peter trying to be a leader among the fish he used to fish. “Hey, you fish! Come inside my boat right now! I’m telling you!” What a frustration for such a talent when he was not able to catch a single fish after trying all night. It was when Jesus came and told him to let down the nets, he said:
Luke 5:5 (NIV) – “Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”
Peter had what we need to have: he dared to believe!!!
I can see ourselves, struggling through life, trying to be someone on this jungle of unfairness and evil. Giving our best years to parties, sex, feelings, jokes, friendships and all kinds of things this earth provides. None of them, nevertheless, will bring the true joy, because if they did, we wouldn’t have to continue seeking and seeking for them.
Peter was intense, but also a fearful person.
Peter was inpatient, unfaithful, irresponsible, the very opposite of a hero.
Jesus saw in him, what only Jesus can see in a person. Jesus told him to feed his sheep. His sheep were the cause Jesus died on the cross and they were too valuable for him.
John 21:17 (NIV) – “The third time he said to him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, “Do you love me?” He said, “Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my sheep.”
Do you know what Jesus sees in you?
Do you think Peter knew what Jesus saw in him? No, he didn’t.
Jesus sees a person he loves in you! This I know. He died for you and me! Peter was also hung on a cross and tradition says he was hung upside down, upon his own request, because he did not think he deserved the same death as his Lord.
Jesus is not asking me to die for him. He already died for us. He wants to live in our hearts and complete the work of arts God himself started at our mother’s womb. He does not care if you have sinned, if you have been on drugs, if you are a prostitute… Whoever you are.
He cares for you!
What you need is dare to believe!

Philippians 1:6 (NIV) – “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Que tal fazer um culto em Inglês?

I love you!

Prayer:
Lord, you are the God almighty! The Lord of all creation! We praise you! Thank you for this second service in English. Thank you for the brothers and sisters that came in here tonight. We all want to adore you and to listen to Your Word. Please help us understand the message you have for us tonight. Bless my mind. Please set me free from any barrier I may have towards a new language. I want to praise your name with my mind and attention. In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen!

Sermon:
Good evening, church! Peace be with you.
We are happy to be here again and even happier to see you all joining us tonight.

Let’s say the words “Praise the Lord”. So if you want to praise the Lord during the service, go ahead and do it in English. You can. Yes, you can! Halleluiah!

When we start learning English the very first sentence we usually learn is “I love you!”
How many of you here know the meaning of “I love you”? Most people know.

Where did “love” come from?

In 1 John 4:8, John says: Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. (NIV)

Therefore, “love” comes from God! God is love!
And because God is love, He did not keep love to himself but has shared it with humanity since the very beginning of time.

If we look up for the word “love” in the Bible, on the internet, because there are several translations, the number of times “love” appears will vary from over 500 to up to 800 times.
I was wondering about that! Maybe “love” has a wider meaning than we realize.

God’s love has been shown in so many different ways in the Bible, in my life, in your life, hasn’t it?
Have you already experienced God’s love? Are the stories here the same? No, of course not. God has different ways to reach out for us, to get closer to us. God loves us. God loves me.

Here is the true beauty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: love!
Jesus loved his disciples, he loved the sick people, he loved his friends and he loved his enemies. He asked the Father to forgive the ones who were crucifying him.
Jesus died for us because God loved us and Jesus loved God.

John 3:16(NIV):  For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

When I love I feel good. Doing lovely things are much better than doing bad things. My flesh many times want to do bad things, but Jesus has taught us to obey the Father and be good. Because God is good! In the first service in English we talked about God’s goodness.

Let’s watch this short movie.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=OHH1Ametpw8

God’s love is like that. He meets our needs and he really surprises us as he surprised the man in need.

One boy represents the evil, the other boy the good person inside of us. The bad boy decides to do good.

God decides to do good to us every day. God cares for you and me.

There is always a decision to make, “will I do good or bad?” It is up to you and me. Jesus teaches us to love. He loved the Father on the cross and the Father loved us by sending Jesus to die on a cross for us.

What do you decide?

Would you like to experience God’s love in your life?

Would you like to let God transform your heart?

Would you like to come to Jesus and let his love save you?

Prayer

Dear Lord, we thank you for Your Word. Please help me love the way you love me. I want to remember that you care for me. I want to remember that you love me. I want to do good and love my neighbor, enemies as Jesus loved and forgave on the cross.
In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen!
